@huskyjerk Welcome to the world of draft effects. Hornish just had the slingshot effect off Andretti and that was enough to win this race.

Hornish's car just seem to take off with a huge burst at the end there, while the other car seemed to stahl. What happened there? Was it the car or the driver?

I've been watching the Indy 500 since about 2005. This FOR SURE in the 5 years that I've watched the Indy (I actually went to yesterday's) was the BEST ending ever. Although, I was very disappointed that Marco didn't win. But I can't wait until he does! :)

I was there. My first Indy 500 --what a finish!

@MyThoughtsSoSublime Hornish IS making his mark in NASCAR... It seems like he brings out at least one caution a race. I miss seeing him in the IRL too...

@dalejrgamer Well, he is more in the category of Rick Mears...

I might still be watching IRL if Hornish was still around. Big loss. He was fricking perfect on ovals - utterly fearless and precise. At the speeds those cars ran (less than CART or USAC) he was the best. But IMS is a roval and Sam had only one brilliant day there. On road courses, well, the less said the better.
